1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to Hernando County special
3 election validation; validating all acts and
4 proceedings had and taken in connection with
5 the special election held in the county on
6 March 9, 2004, to authorize the levy of the
7 one-half-cent local option sales tax in the
8 county for the purpose of providing funds to
9 finance the cost of new facilities consisting
10 of new schools, equipment, and such
11 improvements associated with such schools
12 within the county; declaring such special
13 election legal and valid; providing
14 severability; providing an effective date.

16 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

18 Section 1. All acts and proceedings heretofore had and
19 taken in connection with the special election held in Hernando
20 County on March 9, 2004, including, but not limited to, any
21 acts in connection with the notice of such election to
22 authorize the levy of the one-half-cent local option sales tax
23 on tangible personal property sold in Hernando County for the
24 purpose of providing funds to finance the cost of new
25 facilities consisting of new schools, equipment, and such
26 improvements associated with such schools within the county,
27 are hereby ratified, validated, and confirmed and said special
28 election is hereby declared to be valid and legal in all
29 respects.
30 Section 2. If any provision of this section or the
31 application thereof to any person or circumstance is held

1 invalid, the invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
2 applications of this act which can be given effect without the
3 invalid provisions or application, and to this end the
4 provisions of this section are declared severable.
5 Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
6 law.
