  1                        Senate Resolution

  2         A resolution expressing appreciation to the

  3         American Jewish Committee for its 100 years of

  4         leadership in public service and commitment to

  5         strengthening understanding and communication

  6         across religious lines.

  7  

  8         WHEREAS, the American Jewish Committee, established in

  9  1906, has a long and distinguished record of rendering

10  services of great value to the people of Florida, the United

11  States, and the world, and

12         WHEREAS, the American Jewish Committee celebrates a

13  century of leadership advocating for the security and vitality

14  of the Jewish people and for democratic and pluralistic

15  societies worldwide where all minorities can thrive with

16  dignity, enhancing the quality of American Jewish life by

17  helping to ensure Jewish continuity and deepening ties between

18  American and Israeli Jews, and

19         WHEREAS, the American Jewish Committee has supported

20  community safety, international collaboration and

21  understanding, and first amendment and human rights for all

22  people through its 33 United States offices and 18

23  international posts, and

24         WHEREAS, the American Jewish Committee has provided

25  exemplary support and education for our young people through

26  its outreach centers, scholarships, internships, and

27  fellowships, NOW, THEREFORE,

29  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

 1         That the Senate offers sincere thanks, congratulations,
