  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to enterprise zones;

  3         authorizing the Office of Tourism, Trade, and

  4         Economic Development to designate enterprise

  5         zones in Orange County and Osceola County which

  6         include the boundaries of a community

  7         redevelopment zone; requiring that the

  8         application be submitted by a specified date;

  9         requiring the office to establish the initial

10         effective date of the enterprise zone;

11         providing an effective date.

13  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14  

15         Section 1.  Enterprise zone designation for Orange

16  County and the City of Orlando and Osceola County and the City

17  of Kissimmee.--Orange County and the City of Orlando and

18  Osceola County and the City of Kissimmee may jointly apply to

19  the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development for

20  designation of two enterprise zones encompassing areas that

21  include the boundaries of the community redevelopment zone

22  established under part III of chapter 163, Florida Statutes.

23  The application must be submitted by December 31, 2006, and

24  must comply with the requirements of s. 290.0055, Florida

25  Statutes. Notwithstanding s. 290.0065, Florida Statutes, which

26  limits the total number of enterprise zones designated and the

27  number of enterprise zones within a population category, the

28  Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development may

29  designate one enterprise zone under this section. The Office

30  of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development shall establish

 1  the initial effective date of the enterprise zone designated

 2  pursuant to this section.

 3         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

 4  law.

 7                          SENATE SUMMARY

 8    Authorizes the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic
      Development to designate enterprise zones in Orange
 9    County and Osceola County which include a specified area
      of a redevelopment zone.
