11  The Committee on Education Appropriations (Constantine)
12  recommended the following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 5, line 6, through
16            page 6, line 3, delete those lines
17  
18  and insert:  
19         (5)  District school boards may shall not establish
20  requirements for accelerated 3-year high school graduation
21  options in excess of the requirements in paragraphs (1)(b) and
22  (c).
23         (6)  Students pursuing accelerated 3-year high school
24  graduation options pursuant to paragraph (1)(b) or paragraph
25  (1)(c) are required to:
26         (a)  Earn passing scores on the FCAT as defined in s.
27  1008.22(3)(c) or scores on a standardized test that are
28  concordant with passing scores on the FCAT as defined in s.
29  1008.22(9).
30         (b)1.  Achieve a cumulative weighted grade point
31  average of 3.5 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent, in the

 1  courses required for the college preparatory accelerated
 2  3-year high school graduation options option pursuant to
 3  paragraphs paragraph (1)(b) and (c); and or
 4         2.  Receive a grade no lower than a "B" or its
 5  equivalent, representing at least 3.0 points on a 4.0 scale,
 6  in any course taken in connection with an accelerated 3-year
 7  program under paragraphs (1)(b) and (c). If any student
 8  participating in an accelerated 3-year program does not meet
 9  this requirement, the student shall be required to complete
10  the general requirements for high school graduation pursuant
11  to s. 1003.43.
12         (7)  A student who selects an accelerated 3-year
13  graduation program may change at any time to the 4-year
14  program set forth in s. 1003.43.
