11  The Committee on Community Affairs (Haridopolos) recommended
12  the following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 2, lines 10-22, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  after future growth, screen such sign from view.
18  View zones are established along the public rights-of-way of
19  interstates, expressways, federal-aid primary highways, and
20  the State Highway System in the state, excluding privately
21  owned property, as follows: a view zone of 350 feet for posted
22  speed limits of 35 m.p.h. or less; and a view zone of 500 feet
23  for posted speed limits of over 35 m.p.h. The established view
24  zone shall be within the first 1,000 feet measured along the
25  edge of the pavement in the direction of approaching traffic
26  from a point on the edge of the pavement perpendicular to the
27  edge of the sign facing nearest the highway and shall be
28  continuous unless interrupted by existing naturally occurring
29  vegetation. The department and the sign owner may enter into
30  an agreement identifying the specific location of the view
31  zone for each sign facing. In the absence of such agreement,

 2  along the edge of the pavement in the direction of approaching
 3  traffic as provided in this section. Any governmental
