House Resolution
2A resolution encouraging responsible vendors providing
3alcoholic beverages to the public to use devices to
4prevent underage drinking and to educate and train their
5managerial staff and employees about such devices.

7     WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Florida's citizens
8that efforts be undertaken to promote the elimination of the
9sale of alcoholic beverages to, and consumption of alcoholic
10beverages by, underaged persons, and
11     WHEREAS, the state would like to encourage alcoholic
12beverage vendors to be prudent in their serving practices, and
13     WHEREAS, there is identification-verification technology
14and devices such as age-verification machines that could aid
15vendors in detecting such abuses of false identification, and
16     WHEREAS, under current state law, vendors providing
17alcoholic beverages to the public are not required to use such
18devices or make their managerial staff and employees aware of
19such devices, NOW, THEREFORE,

21Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
22Florida:

24     That responsible vendors providing alcoholic beverages to
25the public are encouraged to provide information and educate
26their managerial staff and employees about identification-
27verification technology and devices such as age-verification
28machines.
29     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such vendors are encouraged to
30purchase and utilize identification-verification technology and
31age-verification machines in order to prevent the sale of
32alcoholic beverages to, and consumption of alcoholic beverages
33by, underaged persons.
