11 The Committee on Criminal Justice (King) recommended the
12 following amendment:

15 On page 9, line 31, delete that line

17 and insert:
18 Section 4. Effective upon this act becoming a law,
19 subsection (3) of section 679.905, Florida Statutes, is
20 amended to read:
21 679.705 Effectiveness of action taken before effective
22 date.--
23 (3) This act does not render ineffective an effective
24 financing statement that, before this act takes effect, is
25 filed and satisfies the applicable requirements for perfection
26 under the law of the jurisdiction governing perfection as
27 provided in s. 679.103, Florida Statutes 2000. However, except
28 as otherwise provided in subsections (4) and (5) and s.
29 679.706, the financing statement ceases to be effective at the
30 earlier of:
31 (a) The time the financing statement would have ceased

1 to be effective under the law of the jurisdiction in which it
2 is filed; or
3 (b) December 31 June 30, 2006.
4 Section 5. Except for section 4 and this section,
5 which shall take effect upon this act's becoming a law, this
6 act shall take effect October 1, 2006.
