15 On page 13, between lines 21 and 22,

17 insert:
18 Section 7. Notwithstanding section 6 and the
19 provisions of s. 288.11635(6), Florida Statutes, no funds may
20 be disbursed until approved by a majority vote of the electors
21 of the state voting in a referendum in the next general
22 election. After certification and, if required, necessary
23 legislative approval, the Office of Tourism, Trade, and
24 Economic Development shall submit a statement that includes a
25 brief and general description of the purposes to be funded,
26 conforming to the requirements of s. 101.161(1), to the
27 Department of State to be reviewed and placed upon the ballot
28 by the supervisors of elections. The Office of Tourism, Trade,
29 and Economic Development must publish notice of the referendum
30 once in the tenth week, and once in the sixth week immediately
31 preceding the week in which the election is held, in one

1 newspaper of general circulation in each county in which a
2 newspaper is published. Any costs associated with the required
3 referendum must be borne by the applicant.
