11 Senator Bennett moved the following amendment to amendment

15 On page 3, line 8, delete that line
16
17 and insert: Statutes, until July 1, 2008, and after approval
18 by a majority vote of the electors of the state voting in a
19 referendum in the next general election. After certification,
20 the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development shall
21 submit a statement that includes a brief and general
22 description of the purposes to be funded, conforming to the
23 requirements of s. 101.161(1), to the Department of State to
24 be reviewed and placed upon the ballot by the supervisors of
25 elections. The Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic
26 Development must publish notice of the referendum once in the
27 tenth week, and once in the sixth week immediately preceding
28 the week in which the election is held, in one newspaper of
29 general circulation in each county in which a newspaper is
30 published. Any costs associated with the required referendum
31 must be borne by the applicant.
