19 (2) A sexual offender shall:
20 (a) Report in person at an office of the department,
21 or at the sheriff's office in the county in which the offender
22 establishes or maintains a permanent or temporary residence,
23 within 48 hours after establishing permanent or temporary
24 residence in this state or within 48 hours after being
25 released from the custody, control, or supervision of the
26 Department of Corrections or from the custody of a private
27 correctional facility. Any change in the sexual offender's
28 permanent or temporary residence or name, after the sexual
29 offender reports in person at an office of the department or
30 at the sheriff's office, shall be accomplished in the manner
31 provided in subsections (4), (7), and (8).

1 (b) Provide his or her name, date of birth, social
2 security number, race, sex, height, weight, hair and eye
3 color, tattoos or other identifying marks, occupation and
4 place of employment, address of permanent or legal residence
5 or address of any current temporary residence, within the
6 state and out of state, including a rural route address and a
7 post office box, date and place of each conviction, and a
8 brief description of the crime or crimes committed by the
9 offender. A post office box shall not be provided in lieu of a
10 physical residential address.
11 1. If the sexual offender's place of residence is a
12 motor vehicle, trailer, mobile home, or manufactured home, as
13 defined in chapter 320, the sexual offender shall also provide
14 to the department written notice of the vehicle identification
15 number; the license tag number; the registration number; and a
16 description, including color scheme, of the motor vehicle,
17 trailer, mobile home, or manufactured home. If the sexual
18 offender's place of residence is a vessel, live-aboard vessel,
19 or houseboat, as defined in chapter 327, the sexual offender
20 shall also provide to the department written notice of the
21 hull identification number; the manufacturer's serial number;
22 the name of the vessel, live-aboard vessel, or houseboat; the
23 registration number; and a description, including color
24 scheme, of the vessel, live-aboard vessel, or houseboat.
25 2. If the sexual offender is enrolled, employed, or
26 carrying on a vocation at an institution of higher education
27 in this state, the sexual offender shall also provide to the
28 department the name, address, and county of each institution,
29 including each campus attended, and the sexual offender's
30 enrollment or employment status. Each change in enrollment or
31 employment status shall be reported in person at an office of

1 the department, or at the sheriff's office, within 48 hours
2 after any change in status. The sheriff shall promptly notify
3 each institution of the sexual offender's presence and any
4 change in the sexual offender's enrollment or employment
5 status.

7 When If a sexual offender reports at the sheriff's office, the
8 sheriff shall take a photograph and a set of fingerprints of
9 the offender and forward the photographs and fingerprints to
10 the department, along with the information provided by the
11 sexual offender. The sheriff shall promptly provide to the
12 department the information received from the sexual offender.
13 (4)(a) Each time a sexual offender's driver's license
14 or identification card is subject to renewal, and, without
15 regard to the status of the offender's predator's driver's
16 license or identification card, within 48 hours after any
17 change in the offender's permanent or temporary residence or
18 change in the offender's name by reason of marriage or other
19 legal process, the offender shall report in person to a
20 driver's license office, and shall be subject to the
21 requirements specified in subsection (3). The Department of
22 Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles shall forward to the
23 department all photographs and information provided by sexual
24 offenders. Notwithstanding the restrictions set forth in s.
25 322.142, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
26 is authorized to release a reproduction of a color-photograph
27 or digital-image license to the Department of Law Enforcement
28 for purposes of public notification of sexual offenders as
29 provided in ss. 943.043, 943.0435, and 944.606.
30 (b) A sexual offender who vacates a permanent
31 residence and fails to establish or maintain another permanent

1 or temporary residence shall, within 48 hours after vacating
2 the permanent residence, report in person to the department or
3 the sheriff's office of the county in which he or she is
4 located. The sexual offender shall specify the date upon which
5 he or she intends to or did vacate such residence. The sexual
6 offender must provide or update all of the registration
7 information required under paragraph (2)(b). The sexual
8 offender must provide an address for the residence or other
9 location that he or she is or will be occupying during the
10 time in which he or she fails to establish or maintain a
11 permanent or temporary residence.
12 (c) A sexual offender who remains at a permanent
13 residence after reporting his or her intent to vacate such
14 residence shall, within 48 hours after the date upon which the
15 offender indicated he or she would or did vacate such
16 residence, report in person to the agency to which he or she
17 reported pursuant to paragraph (b) for the purpose of
18 reporting his or her address at such residence. When If the
19 sheriff receives the report, the sheriff shall promptly convey
20 the information to the department. An offender who makes a
21 report as required under paragraph (b) but fails to make a
22 report as required under this paragraph commits a felony of
23 the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s.
24 775.083, or s. 775.084.
25 (7) A sexual offender who intends to establish
26 residence in another state or jurisdiction other than the
27 State of Florida shall report in person to the sheriff of the
28 county of current residence or the department within 48 hours
29 before the date he or she intends to leave this state to
30 establish residence in another state or jurisdiction. The
31 notification must include the address, municipality, county,

1 and state of intended residence. The sheriff shall promptly
2 provide to the department the information received from the
3 sexual offender. The department shall notify the statewide law
4 enforcement agency, or a comparable agency, in the intended
5 state or jurisdiction of residence of the sexual offender's
6 intended residence. The failure of a sexual offender to
7 provide his or her intended place of residence is punishable
8 as provided in subsection (9).
9 (8) A sexual offender who indicates his or her intent
10 to reside in another state or jurisdiction other than the
11 State of Florida and later decides to remain in this state
12 shall, within 48 hours after the date upon which the sexual
13 offender indicated he or she would leave this state, report in
14 person to the sheriff or department, whichever agency is the
15 agency to which the sexual offender reported the intended
16 change of residence, and report of his or her intent to remain
17 in this state. If the sheriff is notified by the sexual
18 offender that he or she intends to remain in this state, The
19 sheriff shall promptly report this information to the
20 department. A sexual offender who reports his or her intent to
21 reside in another state or jurisdiction but who remains in
22 this state without reporting to the sheriff or the department
23 in the manner required by this subsection commits a felony of
24 the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s.
25 775.083, or s. 775.084.
