| 3 | amending s. 456.066, F.S.; requiring the Department of |
| 4 | Health or the appropriate board to report apparent |
| 5 | violations of law to law enforcement agencies and apparent |
| 6 | Medicaid fraud to the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in the |
| 7 | Department of Legal Affairs for prompt investigation; |
| 8 | providing an effective date. |

| 10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 11 |

| 12 | Section 1. Section 456.066, Florida Statutes, is amended |
| 13 | to read: |
| 14 | 456.066 Reporting Prosecution of criminal violations.--The |
| 15 | department or the appropriate board shall report any apparent |
| 16 | criminal violation of any statute relating to the practice of a |
| 17 | profession regulated by the department or appropriate board to |
| 18 | the proper law enforcement agency prosecuting authority for |
| 19 | prompt investigation prosecution. The department or the |
| 20 | appropriate board shall report any apparent Medicaid fraud to |
| 21 | the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in the Department of Legal |
| 22 | Affairs for prompt investigation. |
| 23 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2006. |
