4     Between line(s) 167 and 168, insert:
5     Section 4.  Subsection (6) is added to section 1006.06,
6Florida Statutes, to read:
7     1006.06  School food service programs.--
8     (6)  By January 1, 2008, each district school board shall
9submit to the department a plan to eliminate the sale or use of
10products containing high-fructose corn syrup from school food
11service programs and on school grounds. The plan must contain a
12schedule to accomplish the elimination of products containing
13high-fructose corn syrup by July 1, 2008, and must be approved
14by the department. The department shall monitor the
15implementation of each district school board's plan and provide
16a report on such implementation to the President of the Senate
17and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by January 1,
182009, and annually thereafter.

22An act relating to the promotion of health in the public
23schools; creating s. 1003.453, F.S.; requiring each school
24district to submit to the Department of Education, by a
25specified deadline, copies of the district's school
26wellness policy and physical education policy; requiring
27the school district to review those policies annually;
28requiring the department and school districts to post
29links to those policies on their websites; requiring the
30department to provide website links to certain resources
31and prescribing the types of information those resources
32must provide; encouraging school districts to provide
33basic training in first aid to students in certain grade
34levels; amending s. 1003.455, F.S.; requiring that school
35district physical education programs and curricula be
36reviewed by a certified physical education instructor;
37encouraging school districts to provide physical education
38for a specified amount of time; deleting obsolete
39language; amending s. 381.0056, F.S., the "School Health
40Services Act"; requiring schools to annually provide
41certain information to students' parents and guardians;
42providing requirements relating to membership of school
43health advisory committees; encouraging the committees to
44address specified matters; amending s. 1006.06, F.S.;
45requiring district school board plans to eliminate the
46sale or use of products containing high-fructose corn
47syrup from school food service programs and on school
48grounds; requiring Department of Education approval of
49plans, monitoring of plan implementation, and reporting;
50providing an effective date.
