14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 75 between lines 1 and 2

17  insert:  
18         Section 46.  Subsection (1) of section 316.083, Florida
19  Statutes, is amended to read:
20         316.083  Overtaking and passing a vehicle.--The
21  following rules shall govern the overtaking and passing of
22  vehicles proceeding in the same direction, subject to those
23  limitations, exceptions, and special rules hereinafter stated:
24         (1)  The driver of a vehicle overtaking another vehicle
25  proceeding in the same direction shall give an appropriate
26  signal as provided for in s. 316.156, shall pass to the left
27  thereof at a safe distance, and shall not again drive to the
28  right side of the roadway until safely clear of the overtaken
29  vehicle. The driver of a vehicle overtaking a bicycle or other
30  nonmotorized vehicle must pass the bicycle or other
31  nonmotorized vehicle at a safe distance of not less than 3
