3     Amendment (with title amendment)
4     Remove everything after the enacting clause and insert:
5     Section 1.  Paragraph (c) is added to subsection (7) of
6section 106.08, Florida Statutes, to read:
7     106.08  Contributions; limitations on.--
8     (7)
9     (c)  A member of the Legislature, a statewide officeholder,
10or a candidate for legislative or statewide office may not,
11directly or indirectly, solicit, cause to be solicited, or
12accept any contribution to or on behalf of a political
13committee, committee of continuous existence, electioneering
14communications organization, or, except for a political party or
15campaign of the candidate, any organization described under s.
16527 of the Internal Revenue Code, and may not control or
17coordinate or consult regarding the expenditure or raising of
18funds for any such committee or organization. Notwithstanding
19any other provision of this chapter, any person who knowingly
20and willfully violates any provision of this paragraph commits a
21felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s.
22775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
23     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.
