4 | Remove lines 151-163 and insert: |
5 | (3)(a) In any election, a committee of continuous |
6 | existence, organization that is exempt from taxation under s. |
7 | 527 of the Internal Revenue Code other than a political party or |
8 | political committee supporting or opposing issues, or |
9 | electioneering communications organization may not accept |
10 | contributions in excess of $500 from an individual or group if, |
11 | during the current election period ending on the date of the |
12 | next general election: |
13 | 1. The committee or organization, directly or indirectly |
14 | through one or more intermediaries, reimburses or pays for any |
15 | travel expenses of the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, any |
16 | member of the Cabinet, any state legislator, any candidate for |
17 | such offices, an employee or agent of the officer or candidate, |
18 | or a member of the officer or candidate's immediate family; and |
19 | 2. Any individual specified in subparagraph 1. |
20 | establishes, maintains or controls such committee or |
21 | organization. |
22 | (b) In any election, if a committee of continuous |
23 | existence, organization that is exempt from taxation under s. |
24 | 527 of the Internal Revenue Code other than a political party or |
25 | political committee supporting or opposing issues, or |
26 | electioneering communications organization accepts contributions |
27 | in excess of $500 after July 1, 2006, from an individual or |
28 | group, the committee or organization may not reimburse or pay |
29 | for any travel expenses of the individuals specified in |
30 | subparagraph (a)1. who establish, maintain or control the |
31 | committee or organization. |
