  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to travel-limited life

  3         insurance coverage; providing a purpose;

  4         specifying prohibited activities by insurers

  5         for life insurance coverage relating to lawful

  6         travel experiences; providing an effective

  7         date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  (1)  The purpose of this act is to prohibit

12  a life insurance company from refusing to insure, refusing to

13  continue to insure, limiting the amount, extent, or kind of

14  coverage available to an individual, or charging an individual

15  a different rate for the same coverage solely for reasons

16  associated with an applicant's or insured's past or future

17  lawful travel experiences.

18         (2)  An insurer may not refuse to insure, refuse to

19  continue to insure, limit the amount, extent, or kind of life

20  insurance coverage available to an individual, or charge an

21  individual a different rate for the same coverage solely for

22  reasons associated with an applicant's or insured's past or

23  future lawful travel experiences.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.
