The release of any funds 6 specifically appropriated to implement this subsection must be 7 approved by the Legislative Budget Commission. Upon completion 8 of the prioritization process, and no later than November 1, 9 2006, the department shall recommend funding for retrofitting 10 public hurricane evacuation shelters to the Legislative Budget 11 Commission for approval. In order to ensure maximum use of 12 federal funds available for the Hazard Mitigation Grant 13 Program, any federal funds appropriated to implement this 14 subsection which are remaining after fully allocating those 15 funds to proposals under this subsection shall be appropriated 16 for distribution pursuant to chapter 9G-22, Florida 17 Administrative Code. The Executive Office of the Governor may 18 submit a budget amendment to transfer those funds in 19 accordance with the provisions of chapter 216, Florida 20 Statutes. 21 (4) The Legislature finds that improved logistical 22 staging and warehouse capacity for commodities will help 23 ensure that adequate supplies, equipment, and commodities are 24 available and accessible for purposes of responding to 25 disasters. Appropriated funds may be used for increasing 26 storage capacity; improving technologies to manage 27 commodities; and enhancing the state's ability to maintain in 28 a safe and secure manner an inventory of supplies, equipment, 29 and commodities that would be needed in the immediate 30 aftermath of a disaster. The release of any funds specifically 31 appropriated to implement this subsection must be approved by 6 3:23 PM 04/28/06 s0862c2c-09-z8v
