2	A resolution designating March 5-11, 2006, as "Florida
3	Patient Safety Awareness Week."

5	WHEREAS, preventable medical errors are a leading cause of
6	death, and
7	WHEREAS, the Florida Legislature seeks to improve the
8	quality and safety of health care rendered and to reduce the
9	harm to patients, and
10	WHEREAS, the Patient Safety Awareness Week is a national
11	education and awareness?building campaign for improving patient
12	safety at the local level, and
13	WHEREAS, Patient Safety Awareness Week was launched in
14	March 2002 in New York, NOW, THEREFORE,
15
16	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
17	Florida:

19	That the House of Representatives designates March 5-11,
20	2006, as "Florida Patient Safety Awareness Week."
