| 5 | WHEREAS, safe, potable water is a basic, essential need of |
| 6 | every person, and |
| 7 | WHEREAS, the good health, comfort, and standard of living |
| 8 | of Florida's residents depend largely upon an abundant supply of |
| 9 | safe drinking water, and |
| 10 | WHEREAS, the provision of sufficient amounts of potable |
| 11 | drinking water is a primary concern and a most important |
| 12 | responsibility of Florida's municipalities and counties, and |
| 13 | WHEREAS, a safe and ample supply of drinking water is |
| 14 | critical to the growth and sustainability of Florida's |
| 15 | municipalities and counties, NOW, THEREFORE, |

| 17 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
| 18 | Florida: |

| 20 | That Wednesday, March 22, 2006, is designated as "Drinking |
| 21 | Water Day" in Florida. |
| 22 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each citizen is urged to become |
| 23 | aware of the vital need for safe drinking water supplies, to |
| 24 | take an active part in overseeing the state's water sources and |
| 25 | protecting them from pollution, to practice sound water |
| 26 | conservation, and to be actively involved in local water issues. |
