House Resolution
2A resolution honoring the memory of the late Henry J.
3Prominski.

5     WHEREAS, Henry J. Prominski, 76, an attorney and former
6state legislator who served from 1966 to 1970, died Saturday,
7April 1, 2006, and
8     WHEREAS, born September 4, 1929, in New Brunswick, New
9Jersey, Mr. Prominski moved to Florida in 1952, relocated from
10Fort Lauderdale to Weirsdale in 1980, and settled in Gainesville
11in 2004, where he resided at Oak Hammock at the University of
12Florida, "an innovative life fulfilling community for the 21st
13century," the board of directors of which he served as a
14founding member, and
15     WHEREAS, in 1950, Mr. Prominski received a bachelor of arts
16degree from the University of Pennsylvania, earned a bachelor of
17laws degree from the University of Miami in 1959 and a master of
18laws from McGill University in Canada in 1961, and was a member
19of Delta Theta Phi, Law Review, and the Order of the Wig and
20Robe, and
21     WHEREAS, Mr. Prominski was a Lieutenant Commander who
22served his country as a pilot in the United States Navy and the
23United States Naval Reserve, and
24     WHEREAS, a member of the Weirsdale Presbyterian Church, Mr.
25Prominski also held memberships in the Navy League of the United
26States, The Florida Bar, the Lake Weir Yacht Club, and the Lake
27Weir Kiwanis Club, NOW, THEREFORE,

29Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
30Florida:

32     That the House of Representatives pauses in its
33deliberations to honor the memory of the late Henry J. Prominski
34and to acknowledge his contributions to the State of Florida and
35to the nation.
