4 | Between lines 35 and 36, insert: |
5 | Section 2. The Florida Building Commission shall define |
6 | within the Florida Building Code the terms "temporary |
7 | manufactured structures" and "temporary manufactured buildings" |
8 | as structures and buildings that are used for a period of 2 |
9 | years or less. The commission shall also provide within the |
10 | Florida Building Code standards and criteria for installation of |
11 | temporary buildings and structures that account for their |
12 | temporary use and that ensure the safety of occupants, the cost |
13 | of the foundation designs, and the integrity of the building's |
14 | installation. The standards and criteria shall not discriminate |
15 | against materials, products, methods, and systems of |
16 | construction of demonstrated capabilities. The commission shall |
17 | also develop criteria for a 2-year extension of the period of |
18 | time that a temporary structure or building can be used upon |
19 | application of the possessor of the structure or building and |
20 | inspection by the authority having jurisdiction. The commission |
21 | shall adopt these standards and criteria into the Florida |
22 | Building Code, and the standards shall take effect not later |
23 | than July 1, 2008. |
