A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to temporary buildings; amending s.
3553.37, F.S.; considering certain buildings as temporary;
4providing foundation requirements for such buildings;
5exempting such buildings from soil and foundation
6requirements of the Florida Building Code; providing an
7exception; providing an effective date.

9Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11     Section 1.  Subsection (12) is added to section 553.37,
12Florida Statutes, to read:
13     553.37  Rules; inspections; and insignia.--
14     (12)  Any modular building, manufactured building, or
15factory-built building, regardless of the occupancy type, that
16meets the requirements of this part and does not exceed a
17maximum of 48 months' occupancy from the date of the certificate
18of occupancy is considered temporary. Such temporary building
19shall be installed with a temporary foundation design that meets
20or exceeds the wind load capacity of the building and shall be
21exempt from the soil and foundation requirements of the Florida
22Building Code. If the occupancy length of such building is
23greater than 48 months, the building is considered a permanent
24structure and shall comply with all requirements of the Florida
25Building Code, unless otherwise exempted.
26     Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
