13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 2, line 23,

16  insert:  
17         Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 316.083, Florida
18  Statutes, is amended to read:
19         316.083  Overtaking and passing a vehicle.--The
20  following rules shall govern the overtaking and passing of
21  vehicles proceeding in the same direction, subject to those
22  limitations, exceptions, and special rules hereinafter stated:
23         (1)  The driver of a vehicle overtaking another vehicle
24  proceeding in the same direction shall give an appropriate
25  signal as provided for in s. 316.156, shall pass to the left
26  thereof at a safe distance, and shall not again drive to the
27  right side of the roadway until safely clear of the overtaken
28  vehicle. The driver of a vehicle overtaking a bicycle or other
29  nonmotorized vehicle must pass to the left of the bicycle or
30  other nonmotorized vehicle at a safe distance of not less than
31  3 feet between the vehicle and the bicycle or other
