| 7 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 8 |
|
| 9 | Section 1. The present corporate limits of the City of |
| 10 | Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so |
| 11 | as to include, in addition to the territory presently within its |
| 12 | corporate limits, the area consisting of a portion of Sunrise |
| 13 | Boulevard, particularly described as follows: |
| 14 |

| 15 | That portion of Sunrise Boulevard in Section 31, |
| 16 | Township 49 South, Range 42 East, Broward County, |
| 17 | Florida, described as follows: |
| 18 |
|
| 19 | BEGINNING at the South One-Quarter (S 1/4) corner of |
| 20 | said Section 31, said point being on the municipal |
| 21 | boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as established by |
| 22 | Ordinance No. 040-10-219; |
| 23 |
|
| 24 | THENCE Westerly along said municipal boundary and the |
| 25 | South line of said Section 31 to a point of |
| 26 | intersection with the East line of the Southwest One- |
| 27 | Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE 1/4) |
| 28 | of the Southwest One-Quarter (SW 1/4) of said Section |
| 29 | 31, said point being on the municipal boundary of the |
| 30 | City of Lauderhill, as established by Ordinance No. |
| 31 | 80; |

| 34 | municipal boundary to a point of intersection with the |
| 35 | centerline of Sunrise Boulevard, as shown on the plats |
| 36 | of THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP I and THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP |
| 37 | II, as respectively recorded in Plat Book 139, Page 2 |
| 38 | and Plat Book 143, Page 47, of the Public Records of |

| 42 | intersection with the Southerly prolongation of the |
| 43 | East line of COSTOYA PLAT, according to the plat |
| 44 | thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 142, Page 20, of the |
| 45 | Public Records of Broward County, Florida, said point |
| 46 | being on the municipal boundary of the City of |
| 47 | Lauderhill, as established by Ordinance No. 04-10-217; |

| 49 | THENCE continuing Easterly along said centerline and |
| 50 | said municipal boundary to a point of intersection |
| 51 | with the Northerly prolongation of the West line of |
| 52 | THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP III, according to the plat |
| 53 | thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 142, Page 20, of the |
| 54 | Public Records of Broward County, Florida; |

| 56 | THENCE Southerly along said Northerly prolongation and |
| 57 | said municipal boundary to a point on the South line |
| 58 | of said Section 31, said point being on the municipal |
| 59 | boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as established by |

| 68 | within its corporate limits and the area described in section 1, |
| 69 | the area consisting of a portion of N.W. 31st Avenue, |
| 70 | particularly described as follows: |

| 92 | thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 163, Page 43 of the |
| 93 | Public Records of Broward County, Florida; |

| 96 | the North line of the Southwest One-Quarter (SW 1/4), |

| 107 | 1 and 2, the portion of the Florida Turnpike (Sunshine State |
| 108 | Parkway) that runs through the City of Lauderhill, particularly |

| 192 | Boulevard to avoid the creation of an enclave, particularly |

| 212 | Sunrise Boulevard, as shown on THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP |
| 213 | II, according to the plat thereof, as recorded in Plat |
| 214 | Book 143, Page 47, of the Public Records of Broward |

| 217 | THENCE Westerly along said centerline to a point of |
| 218 | intersection with the Southerly prolongation of the |
| 219 | West line of said COSTOYA PLAT, said point being on |
| 220 | the municipal boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as |
| 221 | established by Ordinance No. 80; |

| 223 | THENCE Northerly along said prolongation and said West |
| 224 | line and along said municipal boundary to the POINT OF |
| 225 | BEGINNING. |

| 227 | Section 5. All public roads and the public rights-of-way |
| 228 | associated therewith, on the Broward County road system, lying |
| 229 | within the limits of the lands subject to annexation herein, are |
| 230 | transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to the jurisdiction |
| 231 | of the annexing municipality. All rights, title, interests, and |
| 232 | responsibilities for those Broward County transferred roads, |
| 233 | including, but not limited to, the ownership, operation, |
| 234 | maintenance, planning, design, and construction of said roads |
| 235 | and the rights-of-way associated therewith, shall transfer from |
| 236 | Broward County jurisdiction and ownership to the jurisdiction |
| 237 | and ownership of the annexing municipality upon the effective |
| 238 | date of the annexation. |
| 239 | Section 6. On the effective date of this act, the City of |
| 240 | Lauderhill shall be responsible for and embodied with all |
| 241 | municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes, |
| 242 | including, but not limited to, police powers, over territory |
| 243 | hereby annexed. |
| 244 | Section 7. Nothing in this act shall be construed to |
| 245 | affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts, or |
| 246 | between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in effect |
| 247 | prior to the effective date of the annexation. |
| 248 | Section 8. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
