7 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

9 | Section 1. The present corporate limits of the City of |
10 | Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so |
11 | as to include, in addition to the territory presently within its |
12 | corporate limits, the area consisting of a portion of Sunrise |
13 | Boulevard, particularly described as follows: |
14 |

15 | That portion of Sunrise Boulevard in Section 31, |
16 | Township 49 South, Range 42 East, Broward County, |
17 | Florida, described as follows: |
18 |
|
19 | BEGINNING at the South One-Quarter (S 1/4) corner of |
20 | said Section 31, said point being on the municipal |
21 | boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as established by |
22 | Ordinance No. 040-10-219; |

|
24 | THENCE Westerly along said municipal boundary and the |
25 | South line of said Section 31 to a point of |
26 | intersection with the East line of the Southwest One- |
27 | Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE 1/4) |
28 | of the Southwest One-Quarter (SW 1/4) of said Section |
29 | 31, said point being on the municipal boundary of the |
30 | City of Lauderhill, as established by Ordinance No. |

35 | centerline of Sunrise Boulevard, as shown on the plats |

65 | Section 2. The present corporate limits of the City of |
66 | Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so |
67 | as to also include, in addition to the territory presently |
68 | within its corporate limits and the area described in section 1, |
69 | the area consisting of a portion of N.W. 31st Avenue, |
70 | particularly described as follows: |

192 | Boulevard to avoid the creation of an enclave, particularly |

223 | THENCE Northerly along said prolongation and said West |
224 | line and along said municipal boundary to the POINT OF |
225 | BEGINNING. |

227 | Section 5. All public roads and the public rights-of-way |
228 | associated therewith, on the Broward County road system, lying |
229 | within the limits of the lands subject to annexation herein, are |
230 | transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to the jurisdiction |
231 | of the annexing municipality. All rights, title, interests, and |
232 | responsibilities for those Broward County transferred roads, |
233 | including, but not limited to, the ownership, operation, |
234 | maintenance, planning, design, and construction of said roads |
235 | and the rights-of-way associated therewith, shall transfer from |
236 | Broward County jurisdiction and ownership to the jurisdiction |
237 | and ownership of the annexing municipality upon the effective |
238 | date of the annexation. |
239 | Section 6. On the effective date of this act, the City of |
240 | Lauderhill shall be responsible for and embodied with all |
241 | municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes, |
242 | including, but not limited to, police powers, over territory |
243 | hereby annexed. |
244 | Section 7. Nothing in this act shall be construed to |
245 | affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts, or |
246 | between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in effect |
247 | prior to the effective date of the annexation. |
248 | Section 8. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
