A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to the City of Lauderhill, Broward County;
3extending and enlarging the corporate limits of the City
4of Lauderhill to include specific unincorporated lands
5within said corporate limits; providing an effective date.

7Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
8
9     Section 1.  The present corporate limits of the City of
10Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so
11as to include, in addition to the territory presently within its
12corporate limits, the area consisting of a portion of Sunrise
13Boulevard, particularly described as follows:
14
15That portion of Sunrise Boulevard in Section 31,
16Township 49 South, Range 42 East, Broward County,
17Florida, described as follows:

19BEGINNING at the South One-Quarter (S 1/4) corner of
20said Section 31, said point being on the municipal
21boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as established by
22Ordinance No. 040-10-219;

24THENCE Westerly along said municipal boundary and the
25South line of said Section 31 to a point of
26intersection with the East line of the Southwest One-
27Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE 1/4)
28of the Southwest One-Quarter (SW 1/4) of said Section
2931, said point being on the municipal boundary of the
30City of Lauderhill, as established by Ordinance No.
3180;

33THENCE Northerly along said East line and said
34municipal boundary to a point of intersection with the
35centerline of Sunrise Boulevard, as shown on the plats
36of THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP I and THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP
37II, as respectively recorded in Plat Book 139, Page 2

51with the Northerly prolongation of the West line of

53thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 142, Page 20, of the

57said municipal boundary to a point on the South line
58of said Section 31, said point being on the municipal
59boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as established by

65     Section 2.  The present corporate limits of the City of
66Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so
67as to also include, in addition to the territory presently
68within its corporate limits and the area described in section 1,
69the area consisting of a portion of N.W. 31st Avenue,
70particularly described as follows:

73East, Broward County, Florida, described as follows:

75BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the West
76line of said Section 5 with the North line of the
77Southwest One-Quarter (SW 1/4), of the Southwest One-

1911 through 3, a small commercial property abutting Sunrise
192Boulevard to avoid the creation of an enclave, particularly

227     Section 5.  All public roads and the public rights-of-way
228associated therewith, on the Broward County road system, lying
229within the limits of the lands subject to annexation herein, are
230transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to the jurisdiction
231of the annexing municipality. All rights, title, interests, and
232responsibilities for those Broward County transferred roads,
233including, but not limited to, the ownership, operation,
234maintenance, planning, design, and construction of said roads
235and the rights-of-way associated therewith, shall transfer from
236Broward County jurisdiction and ownership to the jurisdiction
237and ownership of the annexing municipality upon the effective
238date of the annexation.
239     Section 6.  On the effective date of this act, the City of
240Lauderhill shall be responsible for and embodied with all
241municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,
242including, but not limited to, police powers, over territory
243hereby annexed.
244     Section 7.  Nothing in this act shall be construed to
245affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts, or
246between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in effect
247prior to the effective date of the annexation.
248     Section 8.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
