| 12 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 13 |
|
| 14 | Section 1. Section 380.0657, Florida Statutes, is created |
| 15 | to read: |
| 16 | 380.0657 Expedited permitting process for economic |
| 17 | development projects.--The Department of Environmental |
| 18 | Protection and, as appropriate, the water management districts |
| 19 | created by chapter 373 shall adopt programs to expedite the |
| 20 | processing of wetland resource and environmental resource |
| 21 | permits for economic development projects that have been |
| 22 | identified by a municipality or county as meeting the definition |
| 23 | of target industry businesses under s. 288.106. A municipality |
| 24 | or county shall provide an identified business with a city or |
| 25 | county commission resolution identifying the business as a |
| 26 | targeted industry business for the purposes of this section. |
| 27 | Permit applications pursuant to this section shall be approved |
| 28 | or denied within 30 days after receipt of the original |
| 29 | application, the last item of timely requested additional |
| 30 | material, or the applicant's written request to begin processing |
| 31 | the permit application. |
| 32 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2007. |
