4     Remove lines 627-649 and insert:
5     Section 15.  Section 796.12, Florida Statutes, is created
6to read:
7     796.12  Payment for information pertaining to a violation
8of chapter.--Any person providing information to a law
9enforcement agency pursuant to s. 796.101 that materially
10assists the law enforcement agency in the investigation of a
11violation of this chapter that leads to a felony conviction or
12withholding of adjudication shall be eligible for a $5,000
13payment from the Crime Stoppers Trust Fund within the Department
14of Legal Affairs in furtherance of the crime fighting goals of
15s. 16.555. Persons who were subject to any pending warrants,
16indictments, or informations in any jurisdiction or were on any
17community supervision at the time they provided the information
18are not entitled to the payment. Law enforcement officers shall
19not be eligible for the payment. Notwithstanding s. 16.555(5),
20funds deposited in the Crime Stoppers Trust Fund within the
21Department of Legal Affairs shall be available for the payments
22authorized in this section, subject to any restrictions placed
23on grants provided by a federal, state, or private entity
24providing grant funds.
