11  The Committee on Education Pre-K - 12 (Gaetz) recommended the
12  following amendment:

15         On page 30, line 29,

17  insert:  
18         12.  The commissioner shall establish a testing
19  schedule that provides for administration of the FCAT as close
20  to the end of the school year as practicable while ensuring
21  that test scores are reported before the end of the school
22  year. The commissioner shall consider computer-based testing
23  and other strategies for reducing the time for reporting test
24  results. Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, the FCAT
25  Writing assessment may not be administered before March 1 and
26  the other FCAT assessments may not be administered before
27  April 15.
