A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to motor vehicle insurance; providing
3appropriations for purposes of investigating and
4prosecuting insurance fraud; repealing s. 19, ch. 2003-
5411, Laws of Florida, relating to the future repeal of
6provisions of the Florida Motor Vehicle No-Fault Law, to
7abrogate that repeal; providing an effective date.

9Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11     Section 1.  (1)  For the 2007-2008 fiscal year, the sums of
12$415,291 in recurring funds and $52,430 in nonrecurring funds are
13appropriated from the Insurance Regulatory Trust Fund of the
14Department of Financial Services to the Division of Insurance
15Fraud within the department and 10 full-time equivalent positions
16and associated salary rate of 342,500 are authorized. This
17appropriation is for the purposes of investigations of motor
18vehicle insurance fraud by the Division of Insurance Fraud or the
19Department of Financial Services pursuant to s. 626.989, Florida
20Statutes.
21     (2)  For the 2007-2008 fiscal year, the sum of $750,000 in
22recurring funds is appropriated from the Insurance Regulatory
23Trust Fund and divided into six equal amounts, each equal amount
24to be allocated to the State Attorneys for the 4th, 6th, 9th,
2513th, 15th, and 17th Circuits to establish and fund an
26additional assistant state attorney position in each circuit for
27the purpose of prosecuting cases of motor vehicle insurance
28fraud.
29     Section 2.  Section 19 of chapter 2003-411, Laws of
30Florida, is repealed.
31     Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
