  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to clinical laboratories;

  3         amending s. 483.041, F.S.; providing that a

  4         psychologist licensed under ch. 490, F.S., be

  5         deemed a licensed practitioner for the purposes

  6         of part I of ch. 483, F.S.; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Subsection (7) of section 483.041, Florida

12  Statutes, is amended to read:

13         483.041  Definitions.--As used in this part, the term:

14         (7)  "Licensed practitioner" means a physician licensed

15  under chapter 458, chapter 459, chapter 460, or chapter 461; a

16  dentist licensed under chapter 466; a person licensed under

17  chapter 462; a psychologist licensed under chapter 490; or an

18  advanced registered nurse practitioner licensed under part I

19  of chapter 464; or a duly licensed practitioner from another

20  state licensed under similar statutes who orders examinations

21  on materials or specimens for nonresidents of the State of

22  Florida, but who reside in the same state as the requesting

23  licensed practitioner.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.

28    Provides that a psychologist licensed under ch. 490,
      F.S., be deemed a licensed practitioner for the purposes
29    of part I of ch. 483, F.S.
