  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to community residential homes;

  3         amending s. 419.001, F.S.; requiring 24-hour

  4         security at community residential homes housing

  5         residents from the criminal justice system;

  6         providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Subsection (12) is added to section

11  419.001, Florida Statutes, to read:

12         419.001  Site selection of community residential

13  homes.--

14         (12)  A community residential home or dwelling unit

15  receiving residents that have been referred by the criminal

16  justice system shall provide 24-hour security at that location

17  in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the

18  other residents and of the surrounding community.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.

22                          SENATE SUMMARY

23    Requires 24-hour security be provided at community
      residential homes that receive residents by referral from
24    the criminal justice system.
