11  The Committee on Education Pre-K - 12 (Gaetz) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         Delete everything after the enacting clause
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 1.  Subsection (4) is added to section 1003.42,
19  Florida Statutes, to read:
20         1003.42  Required instruction.--
21         (4)  Each school district shall notify the parents and
22  the local community, using the district website or other
23  commonly used method of communication, of the instructional
24  standards or course descriptions used by the secondary schools
25  in the school district to teach human sexuality and pregnancy
26  and disease awareness and prevention. The website or other
27  method of communication must include information concerning
28  the available procedures that parents may use to review the
29  curriculum and the methods by which they may provide comments
30  and offer input to the school district.
31         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.

10         parents and others concerning the school
11         curriculum related to the teaching of human
12         sexuality to secondary school students;
13         requiring that the information describe the
14         available procedures that parents may use to
15         review the curriculum and the methods by which
16         the parents may provide comments and offer
17         input to the school district; providing an
18         effective date.
