  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to insurance contracts;

  3         creating s. 627.442, F.S.; prohibiting the

  4         rejection of workers' compensation insurance

  5         policies issued by certain self-insurance funds

  6         under certain circumstances; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Section 627.442, Florida Statutes, is

12  created to read:

13         627.442  Insurance contracts.--A person who requires a

14  workers' compensation insurance policy pursuant to a

15  construction contract may not reject a workers' compensation

16  insurance policy issued by a self-insurance fund that is

17  subject to part V of chapter 631 based upon the self-insurance

18  fund not being rated by a nationally recognized insurance

19  rating service.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
