  1                      A bill to be entitled
  2         An act relating to the Supreme Court; amending
  3         s. 112.061, F.S.; authorizing reimbursement for
  4         travel by the justices between their county of
  5         residence and the Supreme Court on certain days
  6         of the week; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
  9  
10         Section 1.  Paragraph (a) of subsection (3) of section
11  112.061, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
12         112.061  Per diem and travel expenses of public
13  officers, employees, and authorized persons.--
14         (3)  AUTHORITY TO INCUR TRAVEL EXPENSES.--
15         (a)  All travel must be authorized and approved by the
16  head of the agency, or his or her designated representative,
17  from whose funds the traveler is paid. The head of the agency
18  shall not authorize or approve such a request unless it is
19  accompanied by a signed statement by the traveler's supervisor
20  stating that such travel is on the official business of the
21  state and also stating the purpose of such travel. The Chief
22  Justice of the Supreme Court may authorize reimbursement for
23  official travel by the justices of the Supreme Court between
24  his or her county of residence and the headquarters of the
25  Supreme Court on Mondays and Fridays.
26         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a
27  law.
