  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the expedited permitting

  3         process for economic development projects;

  4         creating s. 380.0657, F.S.; requiring the

  5         Department of Environmental Protection and

  6         water management districts to adopt programs to

  7         expedite the processing of permits for certain

  8         economic development projects; providing an

  9         effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13         Section 1.  Section 380.0657, Florida Statutes, is

14  created to read:

15         380.0657  Expedited permitting process for economic

16  development projects.--The Department of Environmental

17  Protection and, as appropriate, the water management districts

18  created by chapter 373 shall adopt programs to expedite the

19  processing of wetland resource and environmental resource

20  permits for economic development projects that have been

21  identified by a municipality or county as meeting the

22  definition of target industry businesses under s. 288.106.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
