11 The Committee on Banking and Insurance (Peaden) recommended
12 the following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 5, between lines 12 and 13,
16
17 insert:
18 Section 3. Subsection (5) is added to section 509.211,
19 Florida Statutes, to read:
20 509.211 Safety regulations.--
21 (5) Every enclosure that has boilers or other
22 machinery generating carbon monoxide in a public lodging
23 establishment must be equipped with one or more carbon
24 monoxide sensor devices that bear the label of a nationally
25 recognized testing laboratory and that have been tested and
26 listed as complying with the most recent Underwriters
27 Laboratories, Inc., Standard 2034, or its equivalent, unless
28 it is determined that no potential carbon monoxide hazard
29 exists within the enclosure. Such devices shall be integrated
30 with the public lodging establishment's fire-detection system.
31 Any such installation or determination shall be made in

1 accordance with rules adopted by the division.
