  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to ballot initiatives; amending

  3         s. 100.371, F.S.; authorizing private property

  4         owners and others to prohibit or regulate

  5         activity on their property which opposes or

  6         supports ballot initiatives; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Subsection (7) is added to section 100.371,

12  Florida Statutes, to read:

13         100.371  Initiatives; procedure for placement on

14  ballot.--

15         (7)  In addition to any other practice or action that

16  is permitted under law, an owner, lessee, or other person

17  lawfully exercising control over private property may:

18         (a)  Prohibit any person from engaging in an activity

19  on the property which supports or opposes a particular

20  initiative or initiatives in general; or

21         (b)  Allows such activity on the property, but

22  uniformly and reasonably restrict the time, place, and manner

23  in which it takes place.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
