  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to ballot initiatives; amending

  3         s. 100.371, F.S.; authorizing private property

  4         owners and others to prohibit or regulate

  5         activity on their property which opposes or

  6         supports ballot initiatives; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Subsection (7) is added to section 100.371,

12  Florida Statutes, to read:

13         100.371  Initiatives; procedure for placement on

14  ballot.--

15         (7)  No provision of this code shall be deemed to

16  prohibit a private person exercising lawful control over

17  privately owned property, including property held open to the

18  public for the purposes of a commercial enterprise, from

19  excluding from such property persons seeking to engage in

20  activity supporting or opposing initiative amendments.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.

26  The committee substitute removes the "uniform and reasonable"
    standard for restricting the time, place, and manner of the
27  initiative activity imposed by the bill.
