11  The Committee on Community Affairs (Haridopolos) recommended
12  the following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 26, between lines 29 and 30,
16  
17  insert:  
18         Section 18.  Section 338.161, Florida Statutes, is
19  amended to read:
20         338.161  Authority of department or toll agencies to
21  advertise and promote electronic toll collection; expanded
22  uses of electronic toll collection system; studies
23  authorized.--
24         (1)  The department is authorized to incur expenses for
25  paid advertising, marketing, and promotion of toll facilities
26  and electronic toll collection products and services.
27  Promotions may include discounts and free products.
28         (2)  The department is authorized to receive funds from
29  advertising placed on electronic toll collection products and
30  promotional materials to defray the costs of products and
31  services.

Florida Senate - 2007 COMMITTEE AMENDMENT Bill No. CS for SB 1928 Barcode 323562 1 (3)(a) The department or any toll agency created by 2 statute may incur expenses to advertise or promote its 3 electronic toll collection system to consumers on or off the 4 turnpike or toll system. 5 (b) If the department or any toll agency created by 6 statute finds that it can increase nontoll revenues or add 7 convenience or other value for its customers, the department 8 or toll agency may enter into agreements with any private or 9 public entity allowing the use of its electronic toll 10 collection system to pay parking fees for vehicles equipped 11 with a transponder or similar device.
