11  Senator Haridopolos moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 1, between lines 29 and 30,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 1.  Subsection (3) of section 381.005, Florida
18  Statutes, is redesignated as subsection (4), and a new
19  subsection (3) is added to that section, to read:
20         381.005  Primary and preventive health services.--
21         (3)  Subject to the availability of an adequate supply
22  of the necessary vacccines, between October 1 of each year and
23  February 1 of the following year, or earlier if available, the
24  Department of Health shall offer immunization against the
25  influenza virus and pneumococcal bacteria to all residents, 65
26  years of age or older, of assisted living facilities licensed
27  under chapter 429, in accordance with the recommendations of
28  the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the United
29  States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and subject
30  to the clinical judgement of the responsible practitioner.  By
31  September 1 of each year, the department or its designee shall

 1  send a notice of the program's details and the availability of
 2  the vaccines to each licensed assisted living facility.
