  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to insurance; amending s.

  3         627.4133, F.S.; requiring that premiums paid on

  4         canceled policies be refunded before

  5         cancellation; providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8  

  9         Section 1.  Subsection (7) is added to section

10  627.4133, Florida Statutes, to read:

11         627.4133  Notice of cancellation, nonrenewal, or

12  renewal premium.--

13         (7)  For policies canceled under this section, premiums

14  paid for the period for which the policy has been canceled

15  shall be refunded on a pro rata basis not later than 30 days

16  prior to the effective date of the cancellation.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
