  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to background screening

  3         requirements for noninstructional school

  4         district personnel; amending s. 1012.465, F.S.;

  5         exempting any Holocaust survivor who is

  6         permitted access on school grounds from meeting

  7         screening requirements otherwise applicable to

  8         noninstructional school district personnel;

  9         providing an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12  

13         Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 1012.465, Florida

14  Statutes, is amended to read:

15         1012.465  Background screening requirements for certain

16  noninstructional school district employees and contractors.--

17         (1)  Noninstructional school district employees or

18  contractual personnel who are permitted access on school

19  grounds when students are present, who have direct contact

20  with students or who have access to or control of school funds

21  must meet level 2 screening requirements as described in s.

22  1012.32. Contractual personnel shall include any vendor,

23  individual, or entity under contract with the school board.

24  This subsection does not apply to any Holocaust survivor who

25  is permitted access on school grounds.

26         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

27  law.
