  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to delinquency prevention

  3         funding; amending s. 985.605, F.S.; providing

  4         for an allocation of certain moneys to

  5         identified high-crime or high-delinquency

  6         areas; providing for the updating and

  7         distribution of data; providing an effective

  8         date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Subsection (3) is added to section 985.605,

13  Florida Statutes, to read:

14         985.605  Prevention service program; monitoring;

15  uniform performance measures.--

16         (3)  The department shall allocate a proportionate

17  share of all state and federal delinquency prevention

18  appropriations to high-crime or high-delinquency areas as

19  identified by geographic information systems crime mapping zip

20  code data. The department shall update and distribute this

21  data no later than May 1 of each year to the public via its

22  website and to local juvenile justice councils and boards and

23  to appropriate legislative committees.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
