15         On page 2, line 5, after the period,

17  insert:  The State Surgeon General shall serve as a leading
18  voice in addressing needs concerning access to health care in
19  this state and shall focus on assessing and addressing the
20  adequacy of the physician and health professional workforce in
21  meeting the health care needs of this state's residents and
22  visitors.
