  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to distribution of personal

  3         identifying information; amending s. 817.568,

  4         F.S.; prohibiting distribution of personal

  5         identifying information of an individual

  6         without permission; providing criminal

  7         penalties; providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Paragraph (d) is added to subsection (2) of

12  section 817.568, Florida Statutes, to read:

13         817.568  Criminal use of personal identification

14  information.--

15         (2)

16         (d)  A person who obtains personal identification

17  information concerning an individual and distributes such

18  personal identification information to any other person

19  without receiving permission from the individual or from the

20  individual's natural or legal guardian commits a misdemeanor

21  of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or

22  s. 775.083.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2007.
