1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to telecommunications service
3 contracts; creating s. 364.193, F.S.;
4 prohibiting a telecommunication company that
5 provides telecommunications services through a
6 written telecommunications service contract
7 from extending the contract beyond the initial
8 contract period because the customer elects to
9 add or remove telecommunication services from
10 the contract; providing an exception; providing
11 an effective date.

13 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
14
15 Section 1. Section 364.193, Florida Statutes, is
16 created to read:
17 364.193 Telecommunications service contracts;
18 limitation on extending contracts.--A telecommunications
19 company that provides telecommunications services through a
20 written telecommunications service contract may not extend the
21 length of the contract beyond the initial contract period
22 because the customer elects to add to or remove
23 telecommunication services from the contract. The contract
24 period may be extended when services are added or removed only
25 upon the express agreement of the customer.
26 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
