NET IMPACT ON: Total Funds General Revenue Trust Funds Recurring - 0 0 0 Non-Recurring - 0 0 0 ______________________________________________________________________________________ Positions & Amounts Positions & Amounts DELETE INSERT COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, DEPARTMENT OF Program: Florida Housing Finance Corporation Affordable Housing Financing 52980100 In Section 05 On Page 220 1695 Special Categories 105045 Grants And Aids - Housing Finance Corporation (Hfc) - State Housing Initiatives Partnership (Ship) Program IOED Immediately following Specific Appropriation 1695, INSERT: From the non-recurring funds in Specific Appropriation 1695, $1,000,000 shall be used for the Teachers' Down Payment Assistance Pilot Project. In order to assist in the recruitment and retention of teachers, the following shall be included in the local housing assistance plan: (a) Down payment assistance shall be provided to eligible persons who meet the following criteria, in addition to other requirements of the plan: 1. The person shall be employed full time as a K-12 classroom teacher in this state; 2. The person shall be state certified in a critical need area of exceptional student education, mathematics, or science; 3. 4. The person shall be employed in a full time, permanent capacity; 5. The person shall demonstrate a 5-year minimum commitment to continued employment as a K-12 classroom teacher in a school within the county of current employment. (b) Compliance with the employment eligibility criteria shall be verified during the life of the loan by the school district in which the teacher is employed. (c) The program shall provide $4,000 as down payment assistance if the city, county, or appropriate governmental subdivision or agency within which an eligible recipient is employed and resides waives all impact fees that occur incidental to the recipient's home purchase. (d) Any lien on the recipient's property securing the assistance provided under this program shall be released if the recipient fulfills the 5-year commitment.
