11  The Committee on Health Regulation (Jones) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 7, between lines 24 and 25,
16  
17  insert:  
18         Section 5.  Subsection (1) of section 460.408, Florida
19  Statutes, is amended to read:
20         460.408  Continuing chiropractic education.--
21         (1)  The board shall require licensees to periodically
22  demonstrate their professional competence as a condition of
23  renewal of a license by completing up to 40 contact classroom
24  hours of continuing education.
25         (a)  Continuing education courses sponsored by
26  chiropractic colleges whose graduates are eligible for
27  examination under any provision of this chapter shall be
28  approved by the board if all other requirements of board rules
29  setting forth criteria for course approval are met.
30         (b)  The board shall approve those courses that build
31  upon the basic courses required for the practice of

 1  chiropractic medicine, and the board may also approve courses
 2  in adjunctive modalities.
