  1                        Senate Resolution

  2         A resolution commending the Florida

  3         Psychological Association and recognizing March

  4         27, 2007, as "Florida Psychology Day."

  5  

  6         WHEREAS, the mission of the Florida Psychological

  7  Association is to advance psychology as a science, a

  8  profession, and a means to promote health and human welfare by

  9  improving the qualifications and usefulness of psychologists

10  through high standards of ethics, conduct, education, and

11  achievement, and

12         WHEREAS, the Florida Psychological Association works to

13  increase and disseminate psychological knowledge through

14  meetings, professional contacts, reports, papers, discussions,

15  and publications, thereby advancing scientific interests and

16  inquiry and applying research findings to the promotion of

17  health and the public welfare, and

18         WHEREAS, the Florida Psychological Association

19  celebrates its 60th birthday in 2007, and

20         WHEREAS, the evaluation and treatment services provided

21  by psychologists in this state help to alleviate human

22  suffering and pain, NOW, THEREFORE,

23  

24  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

25  

26         That the Florida Senate commends the psychologists of

27  this state and the Florida Psychological Association and

28  recognizes March 27, 2007, as "Florida Psychology Day."
