1 Senate Resolution
2 A resolution recognizing Eagle Point Elementary
3 School in Weston, Florida, the highest-ranked
4 elementary school in the state on the 2006
5 FCAT.

7 WHEREAS, Eagle Point Elementary School in Weston,
8 Florida, is a school that emphasizes student achievement and
9 positive student interactions and provides a wide range of
10 opportunities for each child to develop academic interests and
11 expertise in a positive, supportive environment, and
12 WHEREAS, for the sixth year in a row, Eagle Point
13 Elementary has been designated one of the Top 100 schools in
14 Florida, and also won one of three Little Red School House
15 Awards and achieved the highest elementary school scores on
16 the 2006 FCAT, and
17 WHEREAS, Eagle Point Elementary has also been honored
18 with the Florida Five Star School Award for its business,
19 community, and parent involvement, and earned the Golden State
20 Award for volunteer hours, and
21 WHEREAS, Eagle Point emphasizes technology and is
22 involved in Distance Learning, Promethean Interactive
23 Technology, Riverdeep Internet Learning, and Successmaker
24 Independent Technology Learning, and
25 WHEREAS, the vigorous efforts of the school's
26 Principal, Marelise LeClerc, and her team of skillful,
27 dedicated teachers, with the active support of parents and
28 volunteers, have expanded education at Eagle Point beyond the
29 classrooms into a wide range of student clubs and other
30 activities designed to build the confidence and skills of
31 Eagle Point students and to foster character-building and

1 positive group interactions as well as academic excellence,
2 NOW, THEREFORE,

4 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
5
6 That the Senate congratulates the students of Eagle
7 Point Elementary School on their outstanding performance on
8 the 2006 FCAT and commends the school's Principal, Teachers,
9 Parents, and Community Supporters for their dedicated support
10 of this fine school.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,
12 with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Marelise
13 LeClerc, Principal of Eagle Point Elementary School, as a
14 token of the sentiments of the Florida Senate.
