11  The Committee on Education Pre-K - 12 (Wilson) recommended the
12  following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 10, lines 1-11, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         3.  Provide written notification to the parent of any
19  student who did not score above Level 1 on the reading portion
20  of the FCAT is retained under the provisions of paragraph
21  (5)(b) that his or her child has not met the proficiency level
22  required for promotion and the reasons the child is not
23  eligible for a good cause exemption as provided in paragraph
24  (6)(b). The notification must comply with the provisions of s.
25  1002.20(15) and must include a description of proposed
26  interventions and supports that will be provided to the child
27  to remediate the identified areas of reading deficiency.
